| CHAOS IN DETI: LANDLORD SHOOTS TWO BROTHERS, ANGRY YOUTH BURN DOWN PROPERTIES IN AKATSI SOUTH |
Tension has erupted in Deti, a quiet farming community in the Akatsi South Municipality of the Volta Region, after a shocking shooting incident left two brothers seriously injured and triggered a wave of community violence.
What Happened
The violence erupted after a landlord, popularly known as Mensah, allegedly pulled a firearm during an altercation and shot 45-year-old James Kpanda in the knee. His younger brother, Jonathan Kpanda, also sustained a serious eye injury in the process. (Adomonline)
Community Retaliation
In retaliation, angry youth in the community reportedly stormed the suspect's residence and set it ablaze. Properties destroyed in the attack included the suspect's house, aMercedes-Benz

Victims Receiving Treatment
The two injured brothers are currently receiving treatment at the Akatsi Municipal Hospital. Police have since arrested the suspect to assist with investigations into the incident. (Adomonline)
Police Restore Calm
Superintendent Ernest Kodjo Dokounon, the Akatsi South Municipal Police Commander, rushed to the scene with his men to help restore calm. Calm was gradually being restored when reporters visited the scene. (Wikipedia)
