| President Mahama Inspects Ho Stadium, NSA Boss Hails Vision for Sports Infrastructure Growth |
President John Dramani Mahama has toured the Ho Sports Stadium as part of his ongoing inspection of sports facilities across the country, with officials describing the visit as proof of his commitment to reviving Ghana's neglected sporting infrastructure.
Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, who accompanied the President during the tour, said the Ho Stadium inspection reflects a broader vision to spread development to every part of Ghana, not just the capital.
"The President is totally committed to the transformation of sports infrastructure in Ghana. The Ho Stadium inspection is just one example of his vision to spread development across the country," Ampofo Ankrah said.
The Ho Sports Stadium has for years been cited as one of several long-abandoned sporting projects in the country, alongside facilities in other regions still awaiting completion or rehabilitation.
The NSA boss has previously spoken about the need to review stalled contracts and hold past contractors accountable for unfinished stadium projects nationwide.
For Volta Region residents, the visit signals renewed hope that the Ho Stadium project, long stalled, could finally see the investment needed to bring it up to standard.
