Dancehall star Shatta Wale's yellow Lamborghini Urus is back in the news, and this time it's about where the car ends up next.
Photos making the rounds online show the luxury vehicle covered up at the offices of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), sparking fresh talk that the car could soon be shipped back to the United States.
The development follows a court document reportedly issued at EOCO's instance, seeking Shatta Wale's consent for the Lamborghini's shipment to the US. Sammy Flex, Public Relations Manager of the Shatta Movement, confirmed the artiste's camp had received the document and had referred the matter to his legal team to handle through the proper channels.
The statement did not confirm whether consent has been granted or when the car might actually be shipped, so the matter remains before the law for now.
This is the latest chapter in a saga that started when EOCO's Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit seized the 2019 Lamborghini Urus from Shatta Wale's Trassaco Valley residence. The seizure was tied to a US case involving Nana Kwabena Amuah, a Ghanaian currently serving time in the US for financial crimes, with authorities linking the vehicle to part of his $4.7 million restitution order.
Shatta Wale has maintained he bought the car for $150,000 as a third-party owner and had no knowledge of who shipped it into the country. Broadcaster Captain Smart has also weighed in, claiming the FBI had since cleared Shatta Wale, though EOCO has not confirmed that claim.
For now, all eyes remain on the courts as the legal process around the Lambo plays out.
